Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the overall operations of the warehouse as related to the processing (sorting, grading, shipping) of raw material donations and for disposition of same in from of shipments of saleable merchandise to assigned stores in accordance with weekly production budgets, shipments of un-saleable and store return merchandise in the form of salvage to salvage dealers and other end users, and disposal of unusable as trash. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all processing employees and in coordination with other departments for the development of vocational skills to assigned temporary employees.
Essential Functions:
Receive incoming donations and route for sorting, tagging and distribution to appropriate end user/recipient.
Supervise all employees engaged in the processing of incoming donations and daily shipments.
Coordinate necessary shipments, including production of necessary shipping documents and other records.
Maintain statistical information on components of processing as required.
Submit operational reports including but not limited to weekly production reports, forecasting, etc.
Provide guidance in vocational skills development for assigned employees.
Ensure the safety and security of Goodwill employees and Goodwill property per policy and procedure.
Coordinate with various salvage and recycling dealers for the sale of those items.
Advertise, interview, and hire vacant core warehouse positions.
Provide completed reports on various clients and core staff on a routine basis.
Schedule processing personnel to ensure production stands are maintained.
Attend weekly meetings with WFD staff.
Develop and submit yearly department budgets.
Order all new goods and ship to all locations as necessary.
Track inventory on all new goods and supplies.
Attend a minimum of two safety committee meetings per year.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Mechanical aptitude to operate warehouse equipment including but not limited to material baling machine.
Proficient in MS Suite including Excel.
