Job Description
TRANSPORTATION LOGISTICS ANALYST Location Providence, RI :
Purpose: Responsible for the analysis of business requirements and supply chain data to develop strategic insights which can be used to better understand and improve business performance. The focus of work products is clustered in four areas of specialization; customer-specific logistics solutions, network modeling and simulation, system-enabled business processes and action focused KPI reporting. Works closely across functions to provide decision support for the development of supply chain strategies that guide the configuration of distribution assets and inventory investments to efficiently meet the needs of customers. Job Responsibilities: - Development of transportation pricing estimates.
- Analysis of historical data for the identification of efficiency recommendations.
- Organization of operational constraints for the development of analytical models.
- Analysis of customer and inventory moves.
- Development of transportation process and technology roadmaps.
- Formation of SOP / best practice documentation.
- Identification and reporting of KPIs.
- Use of KPIs to identify trends and alert actions.
- Performs other job duties as required
Job Requirements: Education/Certification: - Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Experience: - 2+ years of related experience
- Wholesale logistics / supply chain experience preferred
Knowledge: - Transportation logistics for retail or grocery wholesale
- Understanding of transportation network modeling concepts and practices
- Proficiency in the analysis of data and the development of strategic recommendations
- Familiarity with transportation management business process and systems
Skills/ Abilities: - Well organized and attentive to detail
- Customer orientation and excellent public relations abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Able to influence others through the analysis of data
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
