Summary/Responsibilities:
The Designer will create models and engineering drawings utilizing Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire/ CREO for precision aerospace mechanical and structural components and assemblies for use in flight and ground support equipment (GSE) applications. Designer will establish mechanical design parameters for flight, ground support, and prototype hardware and tooling through consultation with scientists, researchers, and engineers, and with consideration of manufacturing discipline knowledge to enable science and technology programs. Will design experimental research instruments, configurations, devices, or components in support of research and development projects. Will also be responsible for checking drawing/design packages for proper content and to ensure compliance with applicable industry and NASA standards. Duties will include checking designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication and be able to perform tolerance analysis. Responsibility will further include liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing, quality, and Materials.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 4 years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be experienced with Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire/ CREO
• Must be experienced with geometric dimensioning and tolerating per ASME Y14.5M-199A
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and Mil-Standard 100 is also desired.
