Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals overcome communication and swallowing disorders in various healthcare settings.

Duties:

  • Conducting assessments of students' communication skills (e.g., articulation, language fluency, voice) to identify speech and language deficits and develop recommendations.
  • Consulting with teachers, parents, other personnel, and outside professionals to provide information, develop plans for services, and make recommendations.
  • Instructing students to implement goals for the remediation of speech and language deficits.
  • Participating in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings to develop plans and provide information regarding students' functional goals.
  • Preparing documentation (e.g., evaluations, observations, progress reports, contacts with parents, teachers, and outside professionals).
    • Presenting information on various topics related to speech-language pathology tocommunicate information and gain feedback on treatment issues.
    • Researching resources and methods for intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools, and methods to determine the appropriate approach for students 'speech and language services.
  • Screening students to assess according to laws regarding minority non-discriminator practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing.
  • Experience working in hospital settings including acute care, critical care, clinics, and inpatient facilities.
  • Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and treatment planning for a variety of communication disorders.

Work Schedule:

  • Services provided 2 times a week for 3.5 hours a day for 40 weeks throughout the school year, coordinated with the school.
  • Service hours may increase or decrease based on student evaluations and will be scheduled and coordinated on an ongoing basis.

  • Speech Pathology: 5 years (Preferred)


License/Certification:


  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in (CCC-SLP) (Preferred)
