Job Description

As a Candy Expert, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while handling transactions accurately and efficiently. You will be the face of our store, welcoming customers, assisting them with their purchases, and ensuring their overall satisfaction. Your role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our candy store and creating a delightful shopping experience for our customers.

Employment Type:

This is a part-time role requiring a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during busy seasons or events. Applicants must be available to work weekends. Shifts will typically be on weekends, but may vary week-to-week.

Compensation: $16.20/hour

Responsibilities

Customer Service:

• Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Assist customers in selecting candies and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Answer customer inquiries regarding product information, pricing, and availability.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns with patience and professionalism, aiming for swift resolution.

Brand Ambassadorship:

• Go above and beyond to create memorable experiences for customers, ensuring they leave with a taste of happiness and a dash of their unique candy personality, “Candyality”.

Cash Handling:

• Operate the cash register and accurately process transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments.
• Calculate and process discounts, coupons, and gift cards.
• Ensure the cash register is balanced at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies to management.

Maintaining Store Cleanliness:

• Keep the cashier area and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Monitor candy displays to ensure they are well-stocked, neat, and visually appealing.
• Assist in restocking shelves and replenishing candy inventory as needed.
• Product Knowledge:
• Familiarize yourself with various candy products, including ingredients, flavors, and special dietary considerations.
• Stay updated on new arrivals and promotions to effectively communicate information to customers.

Compliance and Security:

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and food sanitation protocols.
• Report any suspicious activities to the management.
• Assist in implementing loss prevention measures to minimize shrinkage.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

• There will be a daily task list for opening, closing, restocking, or preparation for events/orders that will need to be completed.
• From time to time, there will be events such as pop-ups, candy buffets, or candy favors where you will be asked to go off-site to setup, tear down, and/or process orders.
• Other duties as assigned by manager or owners.

Requirements:

• Can deliver an excellent customer experience in store and/or events;
• Capable of processing credit card, cash, and digital transactions;
• Can demonstrate product knowledge to provide customers with support;
• Proficient mathematical abilities for accurate cash handling;
• Must be detail-oriented;
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; and can
• Uphold our values of integrity and hard work, while leading with kindness and compassion;
• Capable of lifting 40-pound packages/equipment
• Proficient in English
