Job Title: Library Assistant II – Gilchrist/Chemult

Salary: $14.16 - $18.44 per hour

Klamath County is on the lookout for an on-call, substitute Library Assistant for the Gilchrist and Chemult Library Branches.  You'll support the operation of these two branches on a flexible, limited-hours basis, performing clerical and para-professional tasks under the guidance of the Branch Assistant.

The Ideal Candidate
Our Library Assistant will be a friendly, customer-focused individual who loves books and enjoys helping people. If you have a high school diploma or GED, some experience in a library setting, and a passion for community service, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with library programs for all ages.
• Help patrons find materials and use library resources.
• Notify patrons about reserved, overdue, or damaged items.
• Keep daily usage statistics and maintain library records.
• Charge and discharge materials, issue library cards.
• Organize and maintain the library’s appearance.
• Assist in removing outdated materials from the collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License
