Job Description

Summary::

The HR Specialist will report to the Director, HR Operations and will collaborate with other HR functions to develop people strategies that align with our business objectives. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining employee records, supporting compliance efforts, and contributing to process improvement initiatives; however, this position will be challenged to evaluate current ways of working and enhance as appropriate as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new hire orientations and incorporate ongoing feedback to ensure an effective, informative and positive new hire onboarding experience.
  • Administration of and monitoring of leave processes ensuring all company leaves are categorized and paid properly.
  • Immigration administration and management, in collaboration with company external immigration attorney counsel.
  • Partner with talent acquisition team to schedule interviews, both onsite and virtual, with a focus on candidate experience.
  • Manage all company job postings, assist with managing the applicant tracking system as necessary and order/oversee employee background check process.
  • Manage company org chart, making monthly updates and auditing for accuracy.
  • Manage required company compliance trainings and optional development courses, tracking and following up where appropriate to ensure attendance.
  • Manage and maintain employee files, with disciplined focus on maintaining confidentiality including tracking of employee I-9s.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in HR operations or general HR roles.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures and experience in administering them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and analysis.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive and positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills.

Vera Therapeutics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $103,000 - $120,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity. Vera Therapeutics also offers various benefits offerings, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k match, flexible time off, and a number of paid holidays.
