We are seeking a talented and experienced Graphic Designer & Illustrator who has some motion graphic experience to join our small but mighty team. The ideal candidate will have a background in both graphic design and illustration, with a proven track record of delivering compelling visuals and animations that elevate brand storytelling. This position will help bring to life two brands that we are developing first.

Responsibilities:

• Stay organized (files and communication).

• Be thoughtful, explore/sketch ideas, research, and design graphics or illustrations to support the projects in these phases (brand identity, products, and marketing).

• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and educational/inspirational curricula.

• Manage multiple projects from concept through completion under tight deadlines.

• Develop color, pattern, and illustrative executions in collaboration with Art and Creative Directors in a collaborative tool (like Figma).

• Demonstrate detail oriented, refined typography, and layout skills.

• Present work with the ability to communicate why the creative decisions were made.

• Maintain high creative standards.

• Be receptive to feedback, share ideas, ask questions, and work together.

• Inspire new ways of thinking, using fresh and unique approaches to design problems.

• Meet via Zoom, or use Loom or Slack in a flexible manner, sometimes at odd hours, but with an effort to be mindful of others.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of professional experience in graphic design, illustration and motion graphics.
• Have a full understanding of typography hierarchy in a variety of mediums (static and motion).
• It’s imperative that you feel confident in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, etc.), Canva, and Figma.
• We also leverage a range of AI tools to support both business operations, content creation, and design. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and confident using AI as a key component of their workflow.
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality design work in graphic design, identity, and illustration.
• Experience in basic animation (i.e. of logos, type, or cute illustrations) is a big bonus!
• _ NOTE _ : we use Slack, Notion, Asana, Loom and GDrive for communication and sharing. You’ll want to be confident using these tools.

What You’ll be Making

• Graphics for digital products (posters, printables, ebooks, presentations)

• Social media graphics, templates, and overlays

• Motion graphics for video and other social content

• Brand elements (i.e. textures, illustrations, backgrounds)

• Illustrations of cute characters (EMOTIONS), lettering, and people

• Social Ads

• Collaborate with Graham (Art Director) and Steph (Creative Director) to align on overall project objectives.
