Job Title: Government Mortgage Underwriter

Are you an experienced Government Mortgage Underwriter looking to join a dynamic team? We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in retail lending to help us ensure that borrowers meet program specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrite new loan submissions with a focus on quality and compliance.
- Review and clear your own conditions to maintain efficiency.
- Keep accurate and organized loan files for easy access and review.
- Make independent decisions regarding approvals, suspensions, and declinations.
- Ensure all loans underwritten adhere to policies and procedures for salability.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience.
- Recent experience with Encompass is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with customers and internal partners.
- Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting procedures.
- Familiarity with DU/LP and manual underwriting processes.
- DE, LAPP, SAR, and VA certifications are required.
- Remote work options are available for candidates located in California or Arizona.
