Job Title: Data Architect

Location: Reston/McLean, VA (Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team in Reston/McLean, VA. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in the office three days a week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data management, and data integration to help design and implement scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture Design:

• Design, develop, and implement robust data architecture solutions that support the organization's strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, metadata, data dictionaries, and other artifacts.
• Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise standards and best practices.

Data Management and Governance:

• Establish and enforce data management and governance policies and standards.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and privacy across the data lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance frameworks and processes.

Data Integration:

• Design and implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple sources.
• Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
• Work with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and workflows.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data architecture and management.
• Mentor and coach junior team members on best practices and technical skills.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, software engineers, and product managers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Participate in project planning, status meetings, and provide regular updates on project progress.

Client Facing:

• The person should be able to work with enterprise architect and is well versed with Data migration architecture to cloud.

Technical Chops:

• Relational DB, Data pipelines work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, and data integration.
• Overall 12+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with data integration tools and technologies such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Nifi.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data governance and data quality tools.
• Understanding of machine learning and data analytics.
• Certification in data management or data architecture (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF)
